Our focus is on the process: Kohli
Meanwhile, India will enter the tournament as one of the favourites to win the trophy. They have played some good cricket in the last two years and currently sits at the second spot in the rankings after England. In the past two years, the Virat Kohli-led side have defeated the likes of South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand at their home. However, Kohli, while addressing the media, said that they will focus on the process and try to give the best shot.
Virat Kohli also added that the players are brimming with confidence and are raring to take the field. However, their only concern will be fatigue as they leave for England only ten days after a gruelling IPL season.
“Only expectation is to play really good cricket, that’s our focus and results have followed in the past 2-3 years. We go into the World Cup with great confidence, all players are doing well. Our only focus is on the process and giving our very best. That is the only expectation we have,” Kohli said.
Besides, Virat Kohli added that the bowlers have prepared keeping in mind the 50-over format. He also noted that the bowlers have looked fresh throughout the IPL and will do well. In conclusion, the talismanic run-scorer said that it will be a challenging tournament as every team have the potential to make a mark.
